Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast - A Review

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary was really nice when I went about 4 years ago. I was so enamored with their free-roaming animals that I kept singing them praises for days. So my sister was really excited to go when we went to Gold Coast together.

Sadly, it just so happened that the park was undergoing a major renovation in their kangaroos and wallabies section and all their animals are relocated to cages or pens and were no longer roaming free. However, we still got to watch the Aborigines doing their traditional dances, I got shat on by the many many birds flying around, pet a Koala, and many many more.

The only thing I did not enjoy was probably walking towards their Wild Island where there were lots of monitor lizards. Grr. What is it about Australian parks and all the lizards lying around? *shudders*

We enjoyed their crocodile feeding too! It was amazing to see how a high a croc can lift itself out of the water to take a bite of food dangling in the air. It was while watching this that I got shat upon. Sheesh! ANYWAY, there were plenty of things to see and do. There were animals and bird shows, treetops walking, etc etc.

Admission cost around AUD49/pax and they are open everyday from 8am to 5pm.

They are located at:
Currimbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Gold Coast Highway
Corner of Tomewin Street, Currumbin
QLD, 4223
