Yeast Bistronomy, Mid Valley - A Review

We were here yesterday to meet up with my sister before she fly back home. I was googling for what to eat in Mid Valley when I saw this shop in the list. Since we have never been here, this seemed like as good as any time to try it out. The environment was pretty nice with warm yellow and brown tones throughout the restaurant.
Everything was good until the bread basket came. We came in a group of three. The free basket of bread include one small saucer of butter. The same amount was given regardless how many were in the group as the next table came solo but he was given the same amount. We asked for extra butter as it was really not enough for all three bread but was told it would be chargeable @@ So if we came and sit in three separate tables wouldn't they be forced to give us more butter anyway? This made me a little more than just annoyed as it was pretty unfair.  *HMPH*

That aside, the bread was good and they were hot from the oven. We were given two different kinds: one multi-grain type and the other plain brioche/petite french loaf. We ordered two set dinner meals and one grilled chicken in pesto spaghetti (Spaghetti au Poulet Grille, Parmesan, et Pesto).

The escargots were alright, albeit a little on the greasy side with tiny whole simeji mushroom per escargot and the sliver of brioche or bread slice on top was a little soggy from the large amount of butter used.

The spaghetti was not really to our liking; the strong basil flavour in the pesto is an acquired taste to appreciate. A mix of cilantro would probably taste better IMO. Anyway, it was a little overly sweet for a savoury pasta and the few chunks of chicken did not make it a very memorable dish except in a negative light. The burger on the other hand was wonderful with soft fluffy bun complimenting the thick chunk of Angus beef mince. However, we asked for different "cooking state" for our beef and when they arrived, both are the same...on the medium side...I mean, why bother asking if you are just going to cook it the same right? The fries reminded me of McD's and they are good with the mayo on the side.

For desserts, the chocolate mousse looked unassuming but it was very rich and chocolatey, just the way I like it. The madelines were not really my thing but the crunchy almonds make it bearable. :)
Overall, I would say it was an average visit for a French/Western cuisine. I prefer Rendez-vous to this joint if you have a hankering for French food. Anyway, they are located at:

Yeast Bistronomy
Lot G (E)-013A, Ground External Floor,
Mid Valley Megamall,
Lingkaran Syed Putra, Kuala Lumpur.
Open daily: 8am to 9.30pm

So you can always drop by if you feel like it. Or, just go to their neighbouring shop, HomeMade Fish Head Noodles for a reasonably priced but still delicious Asian food.
